Government Distributes KPR Subsidies to 1,954,996 Houses During 2015-2024

From 2015 to August 2024, the government, through the Directorate General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing within the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), has allocated KPR subsidies totaling IDR 146.21 trillion for the construction of 1,954,996 homes.
These subsidies include the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility scheme (FLPP) for 1,119,063 units, Savings-Based Housing Financing Assistance (BP2BT) for 30,422 units, and the Interest Difference Subsidy (SSB) for 805,511 units, in addition to down payment assistance subsidies (SBUM) for 1,529,585 housing units.
This information was presented by Iwan Suprijanto, the Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, during his address at the National Housing Day (Hapernas) 2024 celebration, which focused on the theme "Digitalization of Housing" in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
The Hapernas 2024 event featured a variety of activities, including tree planting, Fun Runs, Fun Walks, webinars, and informal discussions regarding housing.
Attendees included PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, the former housing minister, developers, representatives from Perumnas, bankers, and senior officials from the PUPR Ministry as well as other ministries and institutions.
Iwan reported that the Directorate General of Housing has successfully utilized a budget of IDR 67.11 trillion from 2015 to 2023, resulting in the construction of 65,235 flat units (rusun), 37,516 special housing units (rusus), 1,432,278 units supported by the Self-Help Home Development Stimulant Assistance (BSPRS), and assistance for the construction of 220,665 public infrastructure and facilities (PSU) units.
"As of August 16, 2024, the budget realization for the Directorate General of Housing has only reached IDR 4.95 trillion," Iwan stated, as noted in a written communication from the Legal and Public Relations Section of the Directorate General of Housing received this weekend.
This includes the construction of 1,050 flats against a target of 7,745 units, 447 flats from a target of 2,705 units, 18,578 BSPRS units from a target of 83,039 units, and assistance for the construction of 12,613 PSU units from a target of 19,650 units.
Regarding the one million houses (PSR) initiative, Iwan indicated that from 2015 to 2023, a total of 9,206,369 units were realized. In 2024, up to July 31, there have been 617,622 units completed, bringing the total to 9,823,991 units.
"This accomplishment is the result of data collection on housing construction conducted by various national stakeholders, including ministries, regional governments, developers, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and independent communities," Iwan elaborated.
